Have you ever thought what wonderful things you can do with bulbs that have burned? No need to throw them in the trash, you can turn into wonderful decoration for your home or mini personalized gifts and, why not, testimonials for wedding or baptism. You need less imagination, skill and patience! Keep in mind that you can easily cut in the glass bulb if you're not careful, so we recommend you work with care, so as not to break the bulbs, or cause unwanted accidents.
In this article we present a few fabulous ideas to transform bulbs in beautiful decorative objects.
You can make a set of mini-vases if you carefully remove the bulb filament; fill them with water and put a flower in each one. Find a round support that will hold the mini-vase to not fall over. You can use the napkins rings. Don’t they look great on the dinner table?
Using the same pattern, you can make suspended mini-vases. They are even more spectacular! Now that you've seen how easy you can create a suspended decorative arrangement made of more “mini-vases” that used to be light bulbs. It will beautify the space above the dining table, or your personal seating corner in the living room.
Guess what? Reused bulbs make great flowerpots, too! Except that you must use a plant that likes water and doesn’t grow big.
Suspended mini-ball. Dress the bulbs up in colored paper and create a suspended arrangement for the baby’s bedroom. Both of you will be more than happy!
Suspended mini terrariums. Fill the bulbs with colored pebbles, shells or sprigs, add water and ... the mini-terrarium is ready!
Make an oil lamp out of a reused bulb. Pour the right ammount of oil, add a cotton wick and you will have a difuse and romantic source of light in your bedroom. Don’t forget to place it on a round support so that it doesn’t spill over, last thing you need is a fire!
Testimonials with colorful candy. Put colored candies inside the bulb and then add a label with a nice message. It can be a gift for someone you love or, why not, testimonials for a wedding or baptism.
Containers for spices. You can use the bulbs as containers for storing spices. Place them on a wooden stand and use a cork stop to keep them closed.
Christmas decorations. Draw penguins, bears or anything that you like on the surface of the bulbs and you will get some great Christmas tree ornaments.
Also, you can make your own decorative Christmas crown that you will use in the years to come. If one bulb breaks, it can be replaced by another one.
Snowmen Christmas decorations; with a little glue and glitter you can turn a light bulb in a flashy snowman. Draw little buttons with black nail polish and the nose with orange and you can optionally put two branches in the place of arms. Now you only have to put them in the tree!
